Jenson is now staying with Clifton and Leona in their boarding kennels in Goole, East Yorkshire.
He has been out walking with their two dogs and is very clean and respectful in his kennel.

Jenson is a very handsome 4 year old male whose current owners adopted him after he sadly lost his owner in his second home and was being left at home for several hours routinely, unfortunately not much was known about Jenson so they didn’t know his likes or dislikes. The majority of the time he’s a gentle, loving lad who loves fuss and attention and really loves his long walks and playing with his young GWP housemate. But he can for no reason that they can pinpoint became defensive and guard things that he normally wouldn’t.
His owners believe that Jenson has had some form of trauma in the past that they feel they were unaware of but it has left him with certain triggers which they feel they don’t have the experience to identify and help him with. They have tried many solutions to the issues and he’s managed to outsmart them.
He has a tendency to eat anything even remotely edible and left within reach on counter tops. When they first adopted Jenson his resource guarding was significantly worse and he would try to snap at them as they walked past him whilst he had a bone or something he deemed highvalue. They have done a lot of work on this and showed him that he will never go hungry. Whilst resource guarding has reduced a lot, he still has a tendency to eat his food very fast as though the innate fear he will be left without remained. They explained that they have tried to train him that high value items come with certain conditions (reward for acting a way they deemed appropriate) and he seems to be responding to that.
Out on walks they say that he is not really interested in other dogs but will steal their balls and will try and steal food.
If cats run – he will chase, he is friendly towards them but boisterous so will try and say hello very enthusiastically and will not back off easily (he tries to greet them like he would a dog)
He has not been tested around livestock, so careful introductions would be needed. Around small children he is boisterous and not aware of his size so will possibly jump, lick and topple them over.
Jenson walks well on a slip lead but has also used a harness and a Halti.
He does have a recall to his name and to the whistle, but if he smells food – he will bolt for it, also if there are kids or dogs playing with balls – he will chase after the ball and not necessarily come back until he gets it. His recall is very good when it comes to interacting with other dogs.
Jenson is neutered and vaccinated and up to date with his flea and treatments, he has been left in a reputable kennel once and they were informed that he behaved very well.
He travels very well and lets you know that you’ve arrived when he starts to get excited and starts to sing.
Jenson is currently in Goole in Yorkshire and will be rehomed with his Agria 5 weeks free Agria Insurance and our Adoption Contract.
