The German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) is a medium to large sized dog that was developed in the 19th Century for hunting.
They are equally suitable as family dogs with a temperament of an intelligent, bold, boisterous, eccentric, and characteristically affectionate dog that is cooperative and easily trained.
Loving and loyal, these dogs love interaction with humans and are usually very good with children.
The German Shorthaired Pointer needs plenty of stimulation, both mental and physical and will thrive with lots of exercise and running.
GSPs are very clean and need very little grooming, just occasional brushing and they shed hair constantly.
An average lifespan of 12 -14 years and average weights - Female: 20–27 kg, Male: 25–32 kg.
