This lovely boy is 1 year old Loki š¾. Heās a loving, playful GSP/spaniel cross and he needs a new home. If you are interested in helping him, please email us, or send us a message.
Loki was found as a stray pup and taken to the vets. His family had recently lost their beloved dog, so when no owners were found, they adopted him.
Heās an affectionate boy who loves human company. He likes to bring everyone arriving to the house a toy or slipper. He is great with all people and lives with an 8 and 10 year old. Heās really good with children but jumps up and gets overexcited sometimes. Heās great with other dogs- though he can be too playful for some. He loves snuggling up on the sofa. He has free roam of the house and overnight he sleeps in his mam & dadās bedroom. They work shifts, so he can do this for a lot of his day too.
Loki loves human company so much that he doesnāt like being left alone. He barks, howls and paces if left. Due to shift work and neighbours hearing him barking, he doesnāt get left more than about 30 minutes - he usually has a sitter if the family need to leave him. With work and family commitments, his family feel they canāt give him enough time to help him learn to be more independent. Neighbours have also reported the barking to their rental company, so his family worry about what could happen if it continues. They have therefore made the hard and sad decision to rehome him.
Loki hasnāt had much exposure to cats. Heās walked past those that heās seen, so he could possibly learn to live with cats. Heās had little exposure to livestock. He travels ok in he car but cries sometimes.
Loki had learned some commands, and has some whistle recall. He doesnāt go off lead because he gets distracted. He walks in a figure of eight lead, and a harness. He goes running with his dad and still has energy to spare š.
Loki is a healthy, active boy. He has a tiny umbilical hernia that his vets said did not need removing. He eats biscuits and wet food, and has previously been on a raw diet.
Loki is currently in Kent. If you think you could give this boy his forever home, where you can continue to work on his general training and separation anxiety, then please email us on gsprescueuk@gmail.com.
Loki will be rehomed with Agria 5 weeks insurance, under our Adoption Contract and GSP Rescue UK terms and conditions apply.
