Misty is a beautiful 19-month-old, 24kg black and white girl whose owners have made the sad decision for her to find a new home because Misty and the other resident female of the same age are not getting along and have had several fights which are getting progressively worse. This is totally out of character for Misty who is normally calm and well mannered. The fights started when both females were in season at the same time and their hormone levels were clearly raised.
Misty is a loving and very cuddly girl, who gets on fine with the resident 12-year old male dog and can often be found curled up in the bed with him.
Misty is devoted to the family’s teenage daughter and vice versa and has really helped with her anxiety giving her confidence and lots of cuddles, she will wait patiently until invited onto the sofa, then gently jump up. Misty likes to sleep in the room with the teenager and gets on the bed near her feet. She will stay in her bed on the floor if told.
Misty can be left for 3-4 hours after exercise but not routinely. She loves her walks and meeting up her dog friends. She likes meeting new people, she tends to ignore young children and has never shown any issues when they are around. She does not lick people but will come very close and sniff if allowed. She has always been around older children and there have never been any issues.
She comes from a working background and has a long-docked tail. She walks very well on a slip lead and has a good recall. She sits on command and will wait until told to eat her food, which she will then polish off as fast as possible...She has eyes that would melt the coldest of hearts and loves to cuddle up and rest her head on your lap. She has no issues with traffic/fireworks noise but loves to bark at the postman when he delivers stuff. Around livestock she is good but would not be allowed off the lead without further training.
Misty is a good traveller and has been crate trained. She is fit and well, fully vaccinated and wormed with last annual jobs in Oct ‘23. She is also flea treated monthly and will be neutered next month as part of our Adoption Contract.
We would be looking for a home with a steady male who wouldn’t mind sharing his sofa with a gentle little female or the only dog with someone at home for company. She can also be rehomed with children 10 and above.
