Twigs is a stunning 4 year old lad who originated in Italy where he spent a year in a pound after being found and before coming to the UK and living for the last 18 months with his lovely family.
He is a sweet, gentle boy who is finding living in a busy family home too stressful. He is very much loved but the family have had to make this really sad decision to try and find him a home where he can relax and doesn’t need to be worried all the time.
Twigs has a lovely garden but is afraid to go out there especially if it’s a windy day, the families children are banned from playing loud games and ball games because they don’t want to cause him more anxiety.
Traffic is also a worry to him when he’s at home and he can also be afraid of many household noises like the vacuum cleaner, washing machine, tv etc.
Twigs happy place seems to be out on a walk. He loves running, hunting and chasing around, he can be timid meeting other dogs but will also engage and play with some. His other favourite place is curled up on the sofa having lovely cuddles when the house quietens down.
Twigs is neutered and vaccinated until May 2023, he’s a healthy and active lad. He can be left at home resting on his bed for up to 3-4 hours after a good amount of exercise and he’s also a good traveller.
He hasn’t met any cats that we are aware of so his reactions are unknown, however he does love hunting for rabbits and pheasants so it is possible that he will see a cat as prey. He is scared of horses so gives them a wide birth, again he hasn’t met any sheep but could potentially chase them if they ran.
He has been fine with the children in the family and is happy to avoid them rather than join in with them. He is also living with a lovely female GSP who he gets along very well with, who wishes he was more playful at home.
Twigs has a good recall the majority of the time to the whistle and does check in every 5 minutes to see where you all are. He knows several commands like wait, sit, come and does like to please you.
We are looking for a loving home that can give Twigs the cuddles, time, training and socialisation that he needs.
