This handsome youngster is 19 month old Archie, he is currently in Northern Ireland and his family have had to make the sad decision to find him a new home due to family illness.
Archie does suffer with separation anxiety and has been destructive when left for longer than 1 hour, he also gets bored when left so finds his own entertainment.
Archie is carrying a little weight at the moment, he’s 35kg, because being such a very clever boy he has learned to open the kitchen cupboards as well as the fridge, so if he’s bored he helps himself to snacks and any food that he can get to.
Archie is neutered, vaccinated and is happily living with another male dog, he is very good with other dogs and will play happily with them. He is also fine around cats and tries to play with them too. He has no experience with livestock so his reactions are unknown, but it’s believed that he would be fine if sensibly introduced.
Archie is very good around children and is wonderful around the owners 5 year old, his temperament around her has been excellent and he has always looked out for her.
He does love his long walks in the woods and he really enjoys swimming at any chance he can, he is fine off lead but his recall does need further training. He is a strong boy on lead and does pull, so he could benefit from a Halti/Dogmatic type head collar while this is retrained, he currently uses a harness.
Archie does have a grass allergy so the vet has prescribed apoquel twice daily, this will need monitoring moving forward. He also requires a wash down after each walk when hes been through the grass to help ease his reaction.
Archie is a very loving boy who loves cuddles and attention he loves human company and travels really well so prefers to be traveling in the car with you rather than staying home alone.
