This very handsome youngster is Jasper he is believed to be 15 to 18 months of age.
He originated in Spain where he was rescued by a family, after being dumped. The family then arranged a private adoption to a family here in the UK one month ago.
We have been asked to help Jasper because after initially being told off by the resident JRT without any incidents, Jasper has now started to answer back, resulting in scuffles, which have then escalated into fights.
This is very upsetting for the family because Jasper is such a loving dog and very friendly with every other dog that he has met, his owner is a dog walker so he does get to meet lots of different dogs on a daily basis with no problems at all even though he can be very boisterous being so young.
Jasper loves nothing more than cuddling up with his owners and sharing his affection with them all . He is very focused on his ball and is happy when he has something to carry around the house in his mouth, but he does destroy soft toys at speed!
He has very quickly responded to training, but this will need to be ongoing so that Jasper can become an important family member, saying that he does have a reasonable recall in just a very short space of time. He is being walked on his harness and a long line with the other dogs and is very happy to be out walking with them all. Jasper can also be left after exercise for short periods of time quite happily.
He is neutered and holds a full pet passport.
We don't know how he would react around cats or livestock.
Jasper has done amazingly well after only being here in the UK for 4 weeks and is already much loved, but sadly due to the extent of the dislike between the resident dog and Jasper it has been decided that a new home should be found for him before a more serious incident happens.
Jasper really likes the female GSP that he is living with and they play and sleep together .
While having Jaspers passport checks he did show positive for Leishmaniasis for this he takes 2 x allopurinol tablets a day, it is believed that it was found and treated at an early stage.
Jasper is currently in the Hampshire area and will be rehomed with his 5 weeks free Agria Insurance and our Rehoming Contract.
This rehoming is very time sensitive for this sweet boy because of the tension in the house.
