Martha is a stunning 7 year old happy, healthy girl who’s family have had to make the sad decision to find her a new home after a change in the family’s circumstances.
She’s a lovely girl, very gentle and just wants to have her chest rubbed and be fussed. She used to do agility and loved it. She does sometimes beg for human food by sitting near when eating. If she thinks you’re not looking she will have a look on the kitchen units so an opportunist food thief
She is very quick to learn and responds to commands like ‘no’ and ‘off’. She does jump up at people if you don’t tell her not to when they come in the house, she has never done this out on a walk though, she tends to ignore other humans and dogs on walks.
Martha doesn’t like getting her feet wet so will avoid puddles. If it’s hot she will go in the sea or a river if you throw something. Not if it’s cold though! Martha likes to be warm and loves having her jacket on! She will occasionally chase balls, but she is not overly bothered as she just wants to be looking in the hedges when out walking.
Martha’s owner has jogged with her and says that she has a lovely pace beside her. She pulls slightly on the lead on walks so wears a figure of 8 which helps.
She does lots of tricks and you can teach her a trick in one evening, she learns so fast.
Martha is living with two young children under 6 and is lovely with them.
She will chase a cat and could potentially chase livestock so is kept on a lead when around them.
She’s great with other dogs in the home and will ignore them or give them a sniff off lead on a walk. If she’s on lead she could bark, depending on the approaching dog.
Martha has lived with other dogs and enjoyed the company, now she’s alone she can show signs of separation anxiety when left. She also was a regular at doggy daycare which again she really enjoyed.
Martha has a good recall the majority of the time, but can be easily distracted, if she is ranging too far or distracted her mum changes direction and calls, “This way” and not wanting to be left Martha quickly catches her up.
She travels very well and is always happy to jump in the car while her mum runs errands or does the school run, she is neutered and vaccinated.
Martha is currently in the Northamptonshire area and will be rehomed with her 5 weeks free Agria insurance and our Adoption Contract.
