This very handsome boy is Rocco, he is 2 1/2 years of age and until recently has been very happily living with two children, 9 and 12 years.
Rocco has found lockdown very stressful because of the change in his routine. He has been used to having the house to himself five days a week while the children were at school, but during this very strange time he has had the family around all day everyday, which he has struggled with.
Recently Rocco took himself upstairs onto the landing for a sleep, when one of the children ran up the stairs unaware that Rocco was sleeping at the top. Both were surprised and Rocco panicked and lunged at the child catching him on his cheek. Rocco was very remorseful straight afterwards but the family had to admit that Rocco was struggling because he has also been grumbling at the children and when being told off, he would also raise his hackles as a warning.
Rocco has been staying with a very experienced family who have independently assessed him over a three week period and it has been confirmed that he is now a lot happier again and ready to start looking for his new home.
Rocco is a very loving boy and he really enjoys playing games with his family. He is happy meeting and playing with dogs out on walks and really enjoys running games. His best friend is a Chihuahua who he enjoys playing with 😁He also loves chasing the birds but has yet to catch one. He has a good recall to “Here boy” and while being assessed he has also been coming back to the whistle. Rocco has been taught to sit to a hand signal, to give his paw and a few other tricks by his children. 🥰
He does pull on the lead and is a very strong boy, even though he is a smaller boy weighing 20kg at the moment, (now that he is less stressed his weight has started to increase again.)
Rocco also enjoys going on caravan holidays with his family and lots of sofa cuddles. 🥰
He is vaccinated, healthy, happy to be left for a few hours after exercise, he travels well and has met horses which is was fine with. He has not met livestock or cats, so his reactions are unknown.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, relaxed home that will encourage his loving personality. Potentially it could be with older children 12 and above, where Rocco can have the routine that he enjoys.
