This really gorgeous lad is Rocket named after Rocket from the Guardians of the Galaxy films 😎
He is a smaller GSP at 26kg and solid black with a small bib of white. 😎
His family have had to make the very sad decision to find him a new home due to ill health he is a very much loved boy.
Rocket does suffer with gut problems controlled by antibiotics and keeping to a very strict diet. He was bred at a puppy farm and taken away from his mum at a very young age, it’s believed by his vet that he has missed out on some of the important antibodies that she should have been allowed to give him. It results in diarrhoea as soon as something disagrees with him, it is easily controlled by the same food and treats that agree with his system. The vet has also said that he is a social eater and prefers someone to be with him while he’s eating his meals 😂 bless him.
Rocket loves playing with lots of other dogs, he has a very best friend who is a very pretty French Bulldog, they get so excited and spend age chasing around, with this in mind we will be looking to rehome him to a home with another dog for company, he particularly like the females 🥰
He has been happily living with two children 15 and 12 years who he absolutely adores.
He had been introduced to cats belonging to a neighbour and he’s not that bothered by them even when they are teasing him, even out on walks if he’s told to leave it, he will walk passed without showing too much interest.
Rocket does pull on the lead and currently wears a Halti type head collar. His recall is non existent if there’s a dog to play with, he is happy to run up to his owners but then shoots past them with that big GSP smile on his face enjoying the game, so this will need work.
Rocket has been left occasionally for a few hours but this is rare. He would normally be walked with a dog walker or go to doggy daycare which he loved. He travels very well and is used to going everywhere in the car with the family. 🥰
Rocket doesn’t like cows very much, he’s also not a fan of baths or going out in the rain 😂
He does love his cuddles and attention, he also enjoys throwing his toys up in the air and catching them which keeps him occupied for ages 😂
Being only 20 months he is going to need ongoing training and really would benefit from an experienced owner with an older dog as a mentor.
