This stunning black and white ticked female is Sika, named after the Sika deer 😍.
She is a much-loved, 5 year old, who is looking for a new home.
Sika had been a very active and well trained dog who had been trained to go out deer stalking with her owner, who she loved, for the first two years of her life. Sadly, she was then routinely being left crated for several hours during the day, as well as at night, over a two year period, which must have been very difficult for her.
Thankfully, she was rescued from this neglectful home and her current home has helped her recover. She has been living a wonderful life as part of a loving family with a 16 year old son, who she adores.
Unfortunately, Sika now shows signs of separation anxiety, which results in her barking when left alone, even with her two housemates which are older, small dogs. She is happy to go to bed in her crate at night, cuddling up to the other two dogs, but even though she will happily go into her crate during the day, as soon as she is left alone she barks. If she is left alone, out of the crate, she is becoming destructive.
Sika is vaccinated, neutered and is fed on a good quality, dry kibble.
Sika is cat friendly for all our followers who wait for lovely cat friendly GSPs to need a new home 😉. She currently lives with a Ragdoll house cat and they very often sleep curled up together ❤🙂.
Being such a sweet girl she is also great with children, having lived with an 8 year old, a 13 year old and the 16 year old. She is also good with other dogs. Out on her walks she is always too busy working to play with other dogs, but she will go up and have a sniff, before going back to what she loves most, sniffing around.
She is also good around livestock.... however, she does a have a fancy for quail. She hasn't bothered the chickens, or the ducks, but the two quail are no more 😖...
Her recall is great. Sika has been taught silent signals and commands because of the deer stalking and she responds brilliantly to all her hand commands.
When travelling in the car, in her crate, she does get very excited and noisy. Her owner thinks this is because she loved going out to work and as soon as she gets in the car she thinks she off to work 🙂.
Sika is currently living in the Lincolnshire area.
