Wilson is still LOOKING for his FOREVER HOME. We have just had a lovely UPDATE from the boarding kennels where Wilson has been staying💙💙💙.
He has been spending lots of time with the owner and his family and is very good friends with his own young GSP female. They have a great time chasing around the paddocks together 💕.
Wilson has also been out on two walks a day with the owner and, even though Wilson isn’t as fit as he could be, he is definitely getting more muscle and looking much happier. He is an anxious boy but, again, with lots of exercise, he’s coping very well.
Wilson is friendly to the other dogs boarding at the kennels and has never shown any interest in being aggressive with them.
His hackles have raised a few times when he has seen a male dog running at the fence towards him. But he does settle down and, if the dog is playful, Wilson will run up and down the fencing, happily playing with him and happily wagging 😎💙.
He loves the females and has met several - he is respectful and calm with them🥰.
Wilson walks well on lead; he can pull but if reminded to walk to heel, he does beautifully.
Wilson is 6 years old and is desperate for an understanding home of his own, ideally with a female to play with, someone who can give Wilson the exercise that he’s been missing and help him be a balanced and loving boy again.
Wilson travels very well and is neutered.
He will not be rehomed with a cat. He has been watching the chickens who are free running around parts of the kennel and he isn’t at all bothered by them, so a home with chickens or ducks wouldn’t be discounted. Please consider this very handsome and loyal boy he has so much love to give 💕💜💕
He is currently in Goole in East Yorkshire.

This very handsome 6 year old boy is Wilson - he is looking for a new home with someone who can give him the time, exercise and attention that he enjoys. He would like to have a female companion, after previously living with two females. 💕
We are working with his owner and breeder to find Wilson a home that will understand his personality because he can grumble if told to do something that he doesn’t want to do, like getting off the sofa. Because of this we won’t be re homing Wilson to a home with young children. He can also be an opportunist when food is left unattended in the kitchen.
He is crate trained and happy to be left with the radio on for several hours.
Wilson is a nervous dog and his owner believes that this has escalated after being neutered. He is anxious when meeting other dogs out on walks and this has shown itself in him becoming reactive towards them. His owner exercises him in a secure field away from other dog walkers, or uses a muzzle. He has been whistle trained and does have a recall.
After sensible introductions to other dogs, once Wilson knows that the dog is not a threat ,he is much more relaxed.
Wilson would probably chase a cat so won’t be re homed with a cat. Around livestock he behaves well, ignoring them while being kept on his lead.
He travels well but he can get excited and bark at times.
Wilson has done basic obedience and will sit, wait, down etc.
He is fed on a good quality kibble twice a day.
When visitors arrive he gets really excited and can jump up, but soon settles down and will carry on playing with his toys. 💖
Wilson’s mum says that he loves cuddles and loves cuddling up on the sofa next to his family. 💕
